Padawan: Play Time

Obi-Wan's lightsabre thrummed as the azure blade crashed against Bant's veridian weapon. The air crackled with burnt ozone, as the two Padawans danced around each other, weapons weaving intricate patterns as they struck, parried and clashed.

On the side-lines Bant's Master, Kit Fisto, watched, his wide-eyed Nautolan's gaze taking in the fight. He offered no advice, simply letting the two students have at each other in a test of skill.

Obi-Wan drove Bant back with a particularily tricky piece of footwork, and the Mon Calamari girl nearly tripped. She launched herself at him with renewed vigour, her mouth curved in what passed for a smile for her species. Obi-Wan grinned back and took the brunt of her attack on his blade, the jarring blows reverberating up his arms.

He fought her back down and, just as he was manouvering for a the killing blow, Bant brought her blade up and slipped it under his guard, touching his neck. The searing kiss made him yelp and jump back, the blade of his saber disengaging.

With an admiring look, he gingerly touched the burn.

"Well done, my friend. You've come a long way."

"You bet I have, Obi-Wan," she said with a chuckle.

Kit Fisto greeted them as the two stepped on to the sidelines. "Well done, Padawan. And here I thought Padawan Kenobi was the tough one to beat."

Obi-Wan blushed. "I don't know about that, Master Fisto. I don't believe my skills have progressed to that level."

The Nautolan smiled. "So humble. A wonder, considering who your Master is."

Obi-Wan chuckled and clipped his 'sabre back onto his belt.

Obi-Wan doesn't really peruse for very long, as he sees the items he wants immediately. It's funny how all these places seem to cater to his tastes ;)

He puts his menu down and watches his Master as the elder Jedi peruses the menu.

Yes, funny how often that happens with the places that they go to. Coincidence? We think not. But that's quite alright.

He takes a bit longer than his young charge does but eventually lays his down as well.

"It isn't a bad place for something new. Nice atmosphere and good food choices."

Obviously, it won't be an all the time thing but there might be occassion where he'll have them do this again.

"Yes. It would seem that the reports of my fellow Padawans does the place justice."

And then there is a being waiting for orders. "I'll have a fruit-fizz to drink; the braised nerf steak with a side of Turu Root, and berries and cream for dessert."

"Yes, it seems that their reports have done it justice."

Then he turns his attention to the one waiting and gives his order. "And I'll have some Chandrilan Herb Tea to drink; the Coslen Dantoinal Steak and a Kiwik-clusjo Swirl."

The being writes the order down with a nod and heads off.

Obi-Wan chuckles. "And here I thought I was the adventurous one when it came to food."

"Have to have some kind of adventure every once in a while. Even if it is daring food choices." He states giving a slight chuckle himself.

As if foolishly risking your life for lost causes weren't adventurous enough... The though is not spoken aloud, but it does cross Obi-Wan's mind.

He merely grins. "Yes, well, I prefer to leave the adventurous dining to occassions where I have no choice in the matter. It's more thrilling that way."

And then the drinks arrive.

[Sorry, love. Ended up going shopping with mom and then bonding with dad over Burnout Revenge :( And now am off to bed. *pouts* *hugs and loves and stuff!*]

"I'm sure that it is. Perhaps I'll just have to make sure to send us out on more adventerous missions where we have no choice but to stick to their customs and dine with them." He teases.

Deadpan, "Clearly you have been remiss in this regard, Master."

He sips his fruit fizz delicately. And then he is leaning out of the way of food platters being put down in front of them. Yay, service!

"Have I now? Well, I guess I'll just have to fix that then."

He leans back as well and gives a slight nod to the one who served them before turning back to his Padawan.

"If it wold help any,I could always drop a few hints in the direction of the Jedi Council?"

He scoops some of the Turu Root and savours the bite. Then he's sawing off a piece of the braised nerf.

"Because, we all know that they won't listen to you." Yes, he's being cheeky. But Qui-Gon started it.

Qui-Gon cut into his Coslen Dantoinal Steak and took a bite out of it. It wasn't half bad.

"Well, then I guess you'll have to drop them a few hints then. Because we need more adventure in our life."

"Of course we do. We certainly don't get enough, what with our traipsing around the galaxy, foolishly risking our lives..."

He chews on some nerf, eyes closed in rapture. Swallow. Sigh.

Qui-Gon gives a slight chuckle. "Yes, we do; do that quite often." He watches his Padawan for the moment. "What is it you want to do, Obi-Wan?"

He looks startled. Did Qui-Gon just ask him what he wanted? He refrains from peering at the man.

...Was this a trick question?

Instead, he wipes his mouth with a napkin, and thinks about it. He really doesn't know what to say to this...

Qui-Gon takes another bite of his food and simply waits. "When you're ready I'm sure you'll let me know."

"I...I suppose I'd like to spend at least one mission where I could just focus on my studies with you."

He blushes a little at the words. "I mean, it's not that all of our missions aren't educational, it's just...it's just, you know..." helpless shrug.

he has no idea what he's trying to say.

The Master Jedi chuckles a bit. "I understand what you're saying, my Padawan." Well... he hoped he understood what his young apprentice was saying anyways.

Obi-Wan frowns, but it's more fond than a means of showing displeasure.

"Of course."

he finishes the nerf and works on the rest.

Yes, he's leaving that hanging for a reason. He watches Obi-Wan a moment before returning to his food.

"Why would I not want to go with you?"
