Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Jedi Master of the Galactic Republic. He was the mentor of Anakin Skywalker, training him in the ways of the Force.
Born in 57 BBY on Stewjon, Kenobi was chosen as a Jedi apprentice by Qui-Gon Jinn and traveled on many missions with him. During the Invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY, Kenobi became the first Jedi in approximately 1,000 years to defeat a Sith Lord in combat when he confrotned Darth Maul during the Battle of Naboo; Obi-Wan lost his master during the same duel. In 22 BBY, Kenobi found the Clone Army on Kamino. During his pursuit of the Bounty Hunter Jango Fett, Obi-Wan was captured and almost executed in the Petranaki arena on Geonosis, along with Skywalker and Senator Padmé Amidala. The newly arrived clone troopers rescued them, but the following battle began the galaxy-wide Clone Wars.
Kenobi fought during many battles of the Clone Wars, and was one of the last members of the Jedi High Council.

Verse Info:
(Canon) - Obi-Wan Kenobi as he pertains to the Star Wars movies only. Allowances made for interpretation and characterization, though both will be as true to perceived canon as possible.
(Legacy Canon) - Obi-Wan Kenobi as he pertains to the original Star Wars EU, which has now been heartlessly debunked by Lucasfilm and Disney. In terms of the movies and how they interact with the old EU, we'll say that the movies in this case = the novelizations, and keep the movies exclusively as official canon, above.
(Head Canon) - My own personal canon; a mish-mash of both official Canon and Legacy Canon, which also includes bits and pieces of The Clone Wars movie, and animated series. 99.9% of all RP will fall under this category, and may be coupled with one or more sub-tags to denote specific timelines, if/where applicable.
