[right after this]

It doesn't take long for Obi-Wan to recover from his shock at seeing the note on his comm console and actually send an encoded message back to Master Yoda about this Sith Tomb business.

The next person he needs to tell is Siri. But that will have to wait for after this first planning meeting, where they can hopefully establish Obi-Wan as the renegade Jedi more solidly.

When Siri and Anakin show up, they'll find him standing next to the holo-table, with the same officials from the night before seated in front of him, waiting for them to arrive with that Intel data he requested at breakfast.

[Ana? I was thinking that Obi-Wan is the only one at this point who knows about the Tomb and the CIS is holding it for Dooku's use as a possible training facility for Dark Jedi, or whatever. Dooku's not here, but the Seps have sentries posted in and around the Tomb, as well as the main base of operations inside the old Mandalorian encampment. As far as Intel data, Siri and her crew will have had rumours of an interest in the general area of the Tomb, but due to some strange sensor-blocking phenomenon, they don't know why. All they know for sure is that the Mandalorian camp is being used. Info on Onderon HERE which should give you basic background that I'm working from, from playing KOTORII obsessively extensively and also maybe give you ideas for the plot, too.]

And so Siri and Anakin arrive. She does look tired. Anakin looks harried, just a bit. But they have several datafiles between them.

Obi-Wan is mildly concerned, but only on the inside. Outside? He's frowning, just a bit.

Why? Because he wants to give Siri a hug. And he can't. Because he's supposed to Be Mean.

So he frowns.

Siri would shoot Obi-Wan a don't worry I'm fine you old mother hen look, but that would ruin the ruse, now wouldn't it? So she pretends to ignore his look and steps up to the holotable. "Hope you haven't been waiting with bated breath." She sounds genuinely irritated which implies what little she's about to reveal is truly very little more than what they already know and she's not just playing at it for the benefit of whoever may be the spy.

"Of course not. Waiting on you with bated breath would be an exercise in futility." He mutters, loud enough for those up front to hear.

"Whenever you're ready..." he says.

Siri has these wonderful glares that really tend to imply all sorts of things about her target's heritage. But she quickly turns her attention to presenting their data while managing to simultaneously act as if Obi-Wan wasn't standing five feet from her. Which is, admittedly, difficult. Cause it's Obi-Wan.

She puts a datachip into a slot on the table, and a moment later a holographic map of Dxun flashes into being. She points to the general area of the Tomb. "All Intel data points to the a majority of Separatist interest being in this general area of the moon. Unfortunately, that's about all we can tell due to some phenomenon that's blocking our sensors we aren't even sure how many are there or what's so interesting." Her voice is really annoyed now, "we can't even pinpoint whether it's a natural phenomenon or deliberate by the Separatists."

And this is why Anakin looks so harried with having a frustrated Siri breathing down his neck to figure out why their sensors wouldn't work, dammit! for several hours.

An Official nods. "We've always had some problems scanning that region, but not to such an extreme degree. We can usually tell when the larger bomas are in that area, so we can keep track of their herds."

Obi-Wan tugs on his beard thoughtfully.

"So what you're saying," he says, "is that it's a combination of both."

Siri nods, a bit grudgingly, "Looks like."

Obi-Wan frowns.

"Is that it? Do you have nothing else?"

"What else would you like, Master Kenobi? There's little available if what's there is hidden."

Tentatively (yes, Anakin! Tentative!), Anakin speaks up, "they seem to be based at an old Mandalorian encampment..."

Well, will wonders never cease. Obi-Wan needs to document this moment. Tentative!Anakin is certainly worth an annotation in the Archives.

But, alas, the teasing will have to wait, as he's sorta focused more on Siri's very formal 'Master Kenobi'. And he doesn't like it.

"Then we need to send a strike team to investigate."

He's just daring her to disagree. Because really? she needs to. For their plan's sake.

Anakin would agree with that plan. Yay! Action!

"I'll go with them."

Siri interrupts, "No, you won't. Because there isn't going to be any strike team." Yep, right on cue.

One of the Other People In the Room speaks up, "But wouldn't it be benifical for us to send a covert team?"

Obi-Wan nods. "Yes. It would allow us to see what we can't from here."

She crosses her arms, "And risk tipping the Separatists off and escalating this situation even further? I don't think so."

She's trying hard not to smile at the absurdity of this role reversal.

Anakin's trying hard to figure out what exactly he's missing here.

Obi-Wan crosses his arms, too.

"They won't be alerted if we're careful. And besides, this is war. Risks must be taken when the situation demands it. This? Demands it."

Obviously the pod-people have done something to Siri and Obi-Wan, Anakin decides. For that comment by his Master has the Padawan looking up sharply, the expression on his face plain to be read by at least Obi, who are you and what have you done with my Master?

Siri's eyes narrow, "Not yet it doesn't. There will be no team sent until we know more from here." And the barest hint of a sly smirk, "And considering that I am leading this operation and not you Master Kenobi, you can consider that an order."

"Then you are making a mistake, Master Tachi," Obi-Wan declares, ignoring Anakin for the time being. He knows that Anakin will be annoyed with him until the mission is over and he can disclose the truth. "However, since you so obviously seem to have things under control, it its yours to make, and when things backfire, do not come to me for aid."

And with that he heads to the door, brushing past Siri.

It's far too easy to pretend to be angry with him when he's just. so. frustrating. So she clenches her fists and turns back to the holotable.

"Anyway, in order to wrap up here, what needs to be done is more of the electronic surveillance that we've been doing until we can better pinpoint the facts before we go barging in on a situation we don't understand better. Thank you. That's all for now."

Clear dismissal. And she pauses, briefly, to murmur to Anakin, "go make sure your Master understands I mean what I say." And then she leaves.

Anakin blinks at her back for a moment, shrugs, and then heads off to find Obi-Wan.
