His hands caress her, fingers moving through her hair soothingly.
"I'm sorry, love. I'm really sorry. I can't let him near you. Not like this," he murmurs against her hair. "I'll show you where I'll be, I promise. So if you can't find me you know where to go."
He kisses the top of her head. "You can't tell anybody, though. Nobody until or unless I say so. I need to do this on my own and I don't need distractions."
